Bundesliga: Bayern Munich 3-1 Mainz

Bayern Munich have moved up to the top of the German Bundesliga, after defeating Mainz 3-1 away from home.

The defending champions got on the scoresheet with only seven minutes into the match, when Robert Lewandowski scored with a powerful header.

Nearly seven minutes later, the Bavarian Giants doubled the lead after Germany striker, Thomas Muller, tapped the ball home from close range.

Then, Thiago Alcantara finished his solo run with a low shot from inside the box to make it 3-nil in favor of Bayern in the 26th minute.

Jeremiah St. Juste scored the consolation for the hosts before the break, but it was all in vain as Bayern held on, to go two points clear at the top of the league, with their sixth straight victory.
